Jacob Kunz, PhD - Guiding Teams in Mechanical Engineering Projects
A longstanding member of the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association, Jacob Kunz, PhD, delivers mechanical engineering management solutions at NSI-MI AMETEK. The teams he leads span the aerospace and defense industries and focus on the design and building of advanced electromagnetic emission measurement systems. Dr. Jacob Kunz manages numerous complex projects (as many as 80 at once) in areas such as testing, quality improvement, and efficient process design.
Dr. Kunz started with NSI-MI AMETEK as a mechanical engineer and focused on designing custom equipment that enabled precise electromagnetic radiation measurements. His responsibilities included site installation and factory integration and testing, and incorporated sheet metal fabrications, bearing selection, structural design, and tolerance controls of various machined parts.
In his subsequent position as a systems engineer with NSI-MI AMETEK, Dr. Kunz tested, delivered, and installed turnkey systems for Raytheon, Northup Grumman, NASA, and the US Armed Forces. He worked on installations across nine countries and a dozen US states, including numerous military installations.
In his free time, Dr. Jacob Kunz enjoys activities such as woodworking and playing golf.
